Northern Region and Western Region meet in the semi-finals of the 2024 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship on Tuesday August 6, 2024.

The two teams will square off in the first semi-final match at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence. Kick off is 10am local time.

Northern Region,  who emerged Group A winners, will be aiming to overcome an impressive Western Region side to advance to their first ever final in the Championship, which is in its fourth year.

It's been a riveting campaign in the talent identification Championship so far, producing several talents that will be ultimately groomed for the various national youth teams.

Northern Region overcame a tough group that included defending champions Ashanti Region as well as Brong Ahafo, Central and Volta Regions.

They come up against second-placed Group B side Western Region in a match of epic proportions at the GFA technical centre at Prampram.

If they continue to show spirit and togetherness, Northern Region could prove difficult against the Western show boys in what promises to be a thrilling first semi-final contest.

Northern Region amassed eight points from four matches in Group A but that will be inconsequential for the battle that lies ahead against Cosmos Amankwah's side.

Talented forward Musah Ahmed Shafaradeen, who has scored four goals for Northern Region, will be pivotal for the side ahead of the showdown against Western Region.

Western Region will also fancy its chances against their opponent, having impressed in Group B. Their 7-0 demolishing of Upper West Region underlined their firepower in the final third.

The highest scoring team in the famous talent identification Championship, will be aiming to overcome Northern Region and secure passage to the finals, which will take place on Thursday August 8, 2024 at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.

Group B was ultimately decided in the final games as Western Region stole the march off Greater Accra Region to finish second, just a point behind eventual Group winners, Eastern Region, following a  dominant win against Upper West Region in the decisive match.

Its unclear which team will hold the upper hand in Tuesday semi-final clash but the Colts Championship has produced several jaw-dropping moments to set up an enthralling contest.

The matches of the Championships are being telecast live to various platforms including the GFA Official Facebook page and Max TV.
