The race for the 2024 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship Golden Boot has developed into a three-horse race.

Northern Region talented forward, Musa Ahmed Sharafadeen and Western Region duo,  Stephen Cobbinah and Benedict Afful are all tied on five goals after a riveting campaign in the Championship.

Musa Sharafadeen and Stephen Cobbinah were both on targets as Western Region rallied from behind to beat Northern Region 3-1 in an epic semi-final  clash on Tuesday August 6, 2024.

With a game to spare in the Championship, the three players will be aiming to cross the line and bag the individual award at the end of the talent identification Championship.

It remains to be seen who might emerge as the top scorer in the 2024 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship, in a tightly contested Golden Shoe race.

The championship serves as a platform for showcasing emerging players and fostering their development.

This U-17 tournament is a key component of the GFA’s broader strategy of talent identification and nurturing of young football talents across Ghana.

The matches of the Championship are live on various platforms including the GFA Official Facebook page and Max TV.

The KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship, launched in 2021, has been an avenue for talent discovery for clubs, particularly Premier and Division One League clubs, with several players being beneficiaries of the esteemed competition.

The ten Regional Football Associations have selected the best U17 players from their Colts competitions to represent their regions in the Championship which is aimed at identifying, training and developing young talents for the national youth teams.
