KGL U17 Colts: Youngsters Bless Amedorme and Osei Amankwah Prince clinch MVPs after Match Day 3

Volta Region goalkeeper Aglago George and Bono Ahafo forward Osei Amankwah Prince were named Most Valuable Players on Match Day 3 of the KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship on Sunday July 28, 2024.

Young goalkeeper Bless Amedorme impressed heavily with remarkable saves throughout the highly entertaining match and deservedly won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) as Volta Region secured a 2-0 win over Ashanti Region in the second Group A match.

Bono Ahafo forward, Osei Amankwah Prince, who scored a brace in his side's 4-0 win over Northern Region, also grabbed the individual award to wrap up Sunday's matches.  He was presented with a certificate by three-time former Ghana Premier League Goal King Daniel Owusu.

Both players proved pivotal for their respective teams as they secured wins at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence at Prampram.

The Championship fixtures on Monday July 28, 2024, will see Eastern Region battling it out with Greater Accra Region at 10am local time before Upper East Region take on Western Region at 14:00GMT (2pm local time).

The matches of the Championships is being telecast live to various platforms including the GFA App, GFA Official Facebook page and Max TV.

The KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship, launched in 2021, has been an avenue for talent discovery for clubs, particularly Premier and Division One League clubs, with several players being beneficiaries of the esteemed competition.

The ten Regional Football Associations have selected the best U17 players from their Colts competitions to represent their regions in this year's edition.

The 12-day Championship, aimed at identifying, training and developing young talented teenagers for Ghana's youth national teams, runs till Thursday August 8, 2024.
