
Accra Great Olympics ended their seven-game winless run with a narrow 2-1 victory against relegation-threatened Akatsi All Stars at the Mcdan Sports Complex on Sunday. Kojo Zimbo scored a brilliant goal from a set piece for Great Olympics in the 5th minute, while Isaac Mensah doubled the lead for the home side in the 40th minute, before substitute Okine Bernard pulled one back for Akatsi All Stars with a free kick in the 47th minute. Accra Great Olympics currently occupy the fourth position in the league table with 38 points.
Meanwhile, Zone Three leaders Hohoe United were ruthless, sweeping aside Home Stars FC with four unanswered goals in the Volta Regional derby. Courage Gbeve scored first for Hohoe United in the 9th minute, followed by Kwame Paul's 19th-minute header, while Sena Ati made it 3-0 three minutes later, before Farouk Mohammed put the icing on the cake in the 48th minute.
Elsewhere at Akyem Oda, former Premier League side Kotoku Royals shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Okwawu United in the Eastern derby. Mustapha Issah put Okwawu United in front from the spot in the 59th minute, before Kofi Stephen leveled matters for the home side, Kotoku Royals, in the 82nd minute.
