Northern Ladies FC bounced back from their disappointing local derby defeat with a 3 - 0 win over arch rivals Tamale Super Ladies at the Aliu Mahama Sports stadium. Northern Ladies were off to an electrfying start to the second half after a barren first half. Northern Ladies FC got the breakthrough in the 50th minute when Grace Ntsiful converted from the spot to put them ahead. Mary Rose Akunne made it 2-0 for Northern Ladies in the 52nd minute Mary Rose Akunne. Mary Rose Akunne later grabbed her second of the day - making it 3:0 for her side.
Elsewhere in Techiman, debutants Fosu Royal Ladies defeated Kumasi Sports Academy 2:1. The game started on a high tempo with the home side making early indication to score the first goal, but the defensive setup of the away side was equal to the task.
Fosu Royal Ladies fired in the first goal through Sharifa Salia - who took advantage of a defensive miscommunication to punish Kumasi Sports Academy. Alberta Owusu added to the tally in the 72nd minute to give Fosu Royal Ladies a 2-0 lead before Getrude Amoafo pulled one back for the visitors inside 90 minutes.
Meanwhile Defending champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies announced their return to the Malta Guinness Women's Premier league witwith1-0 victory over Supreme Ladies.
The Nanama missed the opening weeks of the season due to their participation in the CAF Women’s Champions League. Mabel Amoyaw scored the onky goal of the game in the 26th minute to give Ampem Darkoa Ladies all the spoils.
