During the 30th Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), held on Tuesday, President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku announced a major policy aimed at enhancing the extent to which matches of the various higher tier leagues are promoted in Ghana.

In his address, he disclosed that pre- and post-match press conferences will now be mandatory for all clubs participating in official competitions, especially at the upper tiers of Ghana Football.

The GFA President emphasised the importance of these press conferences as platforms for communication and engagement with the media and fans. He made it clear that any club failing to adhere to this new directive will face penalties.

"Clubs that refuse to comply with the mandatory pre- and post-match conference requirements will be severely punished," Simeon-Okraku stated. This move is part of the GFA's broader efforts to improve the organization and presentation of football matches in the country, ensuring that all stakeholders, including the media, fans, and sponsors, are better informed and engaged.

The directive is expected to take effect in the upcoming 2024/25 football season, with all clubs required to make the necessary arrangements to host these conferences before and after each match.

The GFA will monitor compliance closely and enforce penalties where necessary to ensure that the policy is effectively followed.
