Premier League: Accra Lions FC host Berekum Chelsea; Heart of Lions battle Vision FC on Saturday

Accra Lions FC will seek to return to winning ways when they host Berekum Chelsea on matchday 6 of the Premier League on Saturday October 12, 2024.

Lions lost 1-0 at Asante Kotoko in their last match and will be eager to restore the points lost in Obuasi when they entertain Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko comes up against Samuel Boadu in what is expected to be a tactical battle. Kickoff 15:00 GMT (3pm local time).

Berekum Chelsea will be aiming to make it two successive wins after beating Young Apostles FC 1-0 at home last weekend.

Accra Lions lie 14th on the league table with 14th minute  having scored 4 and conceded 6 in the process.

Having recorded two wins and three draws, across the opening five matches (W2, D3), Berekum Chelsea enter match week six of the Premiership looking to solidify themselves in the top-half of the table.

Chelsea currently sit 5th with 9 points, scored 3 and conceded 1 so far under Coach Samuel.

Accra Lions have played Berekum Chelsea three times at home in the league since 2020/21 season with Lions winning all.

In the 2021/22 season, Accra Lions beat Berekum Chelsea 2-0, won 2-1 in the 2022/23 season and recorded a 5-0 victory in the 2023/24 season.

Heart of Lions welcome Vision FC to the Kpando Sports Stadium on Saturday on match week 6 in the top-flight.

Heart of Lions are on the roll at the moment, recording three consecutive draws, the latest against Medeama SC in an  away fixture.  Next on the agenda is to beat newly promoted side Vision FC on Saturday.

They are 7th in the league table with 7 accumulated points. Coach Bashiru Hayford 'sside are unbeaten in their last 13 consecutive home league games and conceded just 4 in those encounters.

Newly promoted side Vision FC are certainly up against it and head to Kpando on the back of their 1-0 win over Basake Holy Stars .

Vision FC have won twice, drawn twice and lost once so far. They are currently 6th in the league table with 8 points, scored 5 and conceded 3.

Both sides are meeting in the Premiership for the first time since Vision FC gained promotion into the top-flight in this campaign.
