It will be a busy match day 8 in the Premier League on Sunday October 27, 2024, with eight fixtures in total, as Gold Stars FC unbeaten run faces a stern test at Hearts of Oak, with Asante Kotoko, Medeama SC and Berekum Chelsea lurking to pounce to go top of the table.

Here is a quick preview of the Eight (8) Premier League matches set to take place across the country on Sunday.

Nations FC vs Vision FC

Nations FC will hope to return to winning ways when they host Vision FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday.

Kassim Mingle's side suffered their first defeat of the season after losing 1-0 at Medeama SC last weekend. They’ve scored 4 goals, conceded 3 as they lie 8th in the league table.

The Abrankese lads have won 2, drawn 4 and lost 1 in their 7 league outings this season. Coach Mingle Ocansey side goes into the game with a record of 20 consecutive home games unbeaten and will be eager to bounce back to winning ways on Sunday.

Vision FC dropped points at home after drawing 1-1 against Bechem United to leave them in 5th position. They have won 2, drawn 4 and suffered just a single defeat in the league after matchday 7. Visions FC are the fourth best away side in the league prior to this match and will hope for a rare outcome on Sunday against a side who are yet to taste a home defeat in the league since 2023.

Both sides are meeting in the league for the first time since Vision FC gained promotion into the premiership this season.

Hearts of Oak vs Gold Stars FC

Gold Stars FC's unbeaten run will be put to test when they travel to the capital to face giants Hearts of Oak in a titanic Premier League match on Sunday.

The Miners are on their longest unbeaten run in the Ghanaian top-flight after seven matches and will fancy their chances against the Phobians at the University of Ghana Stadium. They are top of the table with 15 points, having won four and drawn three games so far.

Frimpong Manso's side will be keen to continue that trend of delightful form after making a fantastic start to life this season, with his squad yet to taste a defeat in their three consecutive away league games (D3).

Hearts of Oak are unbeaten in their last five matches and should be in confident mood ahead of the visit of Gold Stars FC. Their goalless draw at Dreams FC last weekend, underscored their improved performances.  The Phobians currently sit 9th place in the league table with 9 points, scored 4 and conceded 4.

Hearts of Oak have played Gold Stars FC three times at home in the league since 2020/21 season with the Phobians winning two and losing one.

In the 2021/22 season, Hearts of Oak beat Gold Stars FC 1-0, won 2-1 in the 2022/23 season and suffered a 0-1 defeat to Gold Stars FC in the 2023/24 season.

Bechem United VS Karela United

Bechem United welcome Karela United to the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Sunday match week 8 of the Premier League.

United will be boosted after scoring a last gasp equaliser to draw 1-1 at Vision FC last weekend. The Hunters have won 2, drawn 3 and suffered 2 defeats. They’ve scored 4 and conceded 4. United are unbeaten in all their three home league games this season without conceding.

Karela United recorded their second win in the league this season against Heart of Lions. They are currently 12th in the table with 8 points, scored 5 and conceded 5, having won 2, draw 2 and suffered 3 defeats. Karela United lost 1-0 in their last away game to Holy Stars prior to this fixture and will hope to secure the maximum points on Sunday away from home.

Bechem United have played Karela United four times at home in the league since 2020/21 season with Bechem United winning three and drawing one.

In the 2020/21 season, Bechem United beat Karela United 2-1, drawn 1-1 in the 2021/22 season, won 3-1 in the 2022/23 season and repeated same score line in the 2023/24 season.

Basake Holy Stars vs Asante Kotoko SC

Asante Kotoko travel to the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Aiyinase to face newly promoted side  Basake Holy Stars on Sunday.

Holy Stars halted their three-game losing streak with a 1-0 win against Karela United in match week 6 but suffered a 2-0 defeat at Nsoatreman FC at the weekend. The newly promoted side are currently occupying the 13th position in the league table with 7 points. The Aiyinase lads have scored 3 and conceded 6 so far, having won 2, drawn 1 and suffered 4 defeats.

Asante Kotoko meanwhile, travel on the back of a three-game winning run, including a 1-0 triumph champions FC Samartex 1996. The Porcupine Warriors have accumulated 14 points, scored 6 and conceded 2,  having won 4 and drawn 2. Kotoko have one outstanding game to play in match week 6 against bottom placed Legon Cities.

Holy Stars are meeting Asante Kotoko for the first time in the league since the Aiyinase lads gained promotion into the top-flight this season.

Young Apostles FC vs Dreams FC

Young Apostles entertain Dreams FC at the Wenchi Sports Stadium seeking to return to winning ways on Sunday.

Two teams in truly wretched form clash in this basement battle when Young Apostles take on Dreams FC with the host sitting just two points above the visitors (6), having won 1, drawn 3 and suffered 3 defeats.

The Wenchi lads have scored 5 and conceded 8 goals. Young Apostles lost their last home league game against Hearts of Oak and will be keen to bounce back to winning ways on Sunday against a side who are also struggling with their away fixtures.

Dreams FC are yet to record their first win in the league this season. The Believers have drawn 4 and suffered 3 defeats in 7 outings. They are currently occupying 17th position in the league table with 4 points.

Dreams FC goes into this game on the back of a goalless stalemate at the weekend to Hearts of Oak. Abdul Karim Zito's side are winless in their last ten away league games ahead of the clash.

Both sides are meeting in the league for the first time since the Wenchi lads gained promotion into the Premiership this season.

Heart of Lions vs Nsoatreman FC

Heart of Lions welcome Nsoatreman FC to the Kpando Stadium in match week 8 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday October 27, 2024.

Lions will be eager to return to winning ways after losing 1-0 at Karela United last weekend to end their fourteen-game unbeaten run in the league.

The Kpando lads are currently occupying the 11th place in the table with 8 accumulated points,  having won 1, drawn 5 and suffered just a single defeat in their 7 outings. They’ve scored 5 and conceded 4. Lions are unbeaten at home in the league this season with one win and two consecutive draws. They will be eager to secure victory at home on Sunday.

Nsoatreman FC currently sit 7th place in the league table with 10 points, having won 3, drawn 1 and suffered 3 defeats in their 7 league games played so far. The Nsoatre lads have scored 8 and conceded 7. Yaw Preko's side have lost all their three consecutive away league games in this campaign.

Heart of Lions have played Nsoatreman FC once at home in the league since the Kpando lads gained promotion back into the Premiership last season with Heart of Lions winning 1-0.

Aduana FC vs Medeama SC

Medeama SC travel to the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park to battle Aduana FC in a crunch match week 8 fixture in the Premier League on Sunday.

Aduana FC have endured a difficult start to life in this campaign, having won only one of their 7 league games, drawn three and suffered three defeats. The Fire Club currently sit 14th in the league table with 6 points. They’ve scored 6 and conceded 8. Aduana FC will hope to record their second straight home victory on Sunday.

Medeama SC have had a fine season so far, having won four of their 7 league games, drawn two and suffered just a single defeat. The Mauve and Yellow are currently occupying 3rd position in the table. Medeama SC are the second best away team in the league ahead of this fixture.

Berekum Chelsea brilliant start to the 2024/25 season continued last weekend after thrashing bottom placed Legon Cities 3-1. They've gone  7 league games without defeats (W3, D4). They are among the three unbeaten sides in the league this season and will test the home invincibility of Samartex.

FC Samartex 1996 have played Berekum Chelsea twice at home in the league since the Timber Giants gained promotion into the Premiership in the 2022/23 season with FC Samartex winning one and drawing one.

In the 2022/23 season, FC Samartex drew 1-1 with Berekum Chelsea and won 3-2 in the 2023/24 season.
