Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic has pleaded for calm as the nation broods over the Black Stars' failed attempt to win the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Black Stars, who were tipped to end their long trophy drought finished the competition fourth after losing 2-0 to Mali on Saturday in Malabo.
Amidst the team's failure, Stevanovic's future with the national team has been discussed in the media but the Black Stars coach is calling for cool heads.
“We are serious people. We first need to sit, talk easy and make an assessment because I think we took fourth position but didn’t disappoint in the game," he said.
“The semi-final defeat was the first competitive loss during my one year. And after that it is difficult to motivate the players but I will sit with my employers and I leave everything in the hands of GFA.”
Stevanovic understands the frustrations of the supporters but insists that the team gave hundred percent in their bid to win the cup.
“The people might not be satisfied with the fourth position but I am sure that they will be satisfied with the way we played, we dominated. We could not reach the final and win it and that was the difference.
“But my players gave everything and we have to proud of their determination.”
The Ghana Football Association has denied media reports that Stevanovic will be relieved of his duties next month.
"We wish to state that the report is inaccurate and does not represent the position of the GFA," a GFA statement read.
