Aduana FC smash Dreams FC, Nations FC come from behind to hammer Nsoatreman FC

Bright Adjei scored a hat-trick to inspire Aduana FC to a 4-1 win over Dreams FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park. Winger Abdul Aziz Issah scored inside 48 minutes to cancel Kelvin Obeng's opening goal for Aduana FC in 37th minute before the visitors had a baptism of fire at Dormaa.

Former Tema Youth forward Bright Adjei who is back in the League after a short spell in Tanzania added to the tally in  the 71st minute to give Aduana FC the advantage.  Dreams FC made an audacious attempt to level matters but Agyenim Boateng fluffed the chance.

With the game getting to a close, Bright Adjei scored two quick fire goals to give Aduana FC all the spoils to extend their impressive home run to eight wins in nine home matches. Bright Adjei scored in the 82nd minute to give Aduana FC a two-goal cushioning before wrapping up his hat-trick with a fine finish inside 92 minutes.

The win puts Aduana FC two points behind league leaders FC Samartex, and one point above Asante Kotoko - setting up an exciting title race. Dreams FC are in the relegation zone with four outstanding games to play in January.

Accra Hearts of Oak left it late to beat Bechem United 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in Kumasi. Martin Karikari scored the only goal of the match inside 96 minutes to end the Phobians five game winless run.

Bechem United created numerous chances and pressed hard for the winner but Hearts of Oak had the laugh with a late strike to earn them the points. Ibrahim Salifu missed a penalty in the 94th minute before Karikari broke the deadlock two minutes later. The former Asekem FC player got on the end of a lovely pass from Salifu Ibrahim to slot home.

Hearts of Oak now move to ninth place in the league table, with 21 points after 17 Premier League games. The Phobians are 11 points behind leaders FC Samartex and 9 adrift of second placed Aduana FC who hammered Dreams FC 4-1 to go second. The defeat leaves Bechem United in seventh place after winning three of their last five matches .

Meanwhile, Heart of Lions ended 2023 on a high by recording their first win in the Ghana Premier League at the Hohoe Stadium. The Kpando lads scored two first half goals t beat Berekum Chelsea 2-0 to pick their first three points of the season.

Ebenezer Abban scored the opener inside 7 minutes before Nana Kwame Oppong drilled home the second goal in the 18th minute. Despite the win, Lions are still rooted at the bottom of the league standings with 11 points from 15 matches - with two games in hand.

In Tamale, Emmanuel Antwi scored a 35th minute goal to give Accra Great Olympics a rare away win at the Aliu Mahama stadium. The Dade boys ended the first round of the League on a strong footing as they claimed a 1-0 victory to end their six-game winless run.

The defeat leaves RTU in the bottom three following a five match winless run.  The Pride of the North are 17th in the League table just three points above the bottom-placed Heart of Lions and two points away from the safety.

Nations FC staged a remarkable comeback to beat Nsoatreman FC 4-1 at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports complex. New signing Bismark Gyasi scored on his debut to restore parity for the home side after going down in the first half. Asamoah Boateng later grabbed brace before Nafiu Sulemana wrapped things up in stoppage time for a 4-1 thumping.

Gyasi restored parity for Nations on 52 minutes after they fell behind in the first half. Asamoah Boateng climbed off the bench to put the host in front inside 69 minutes and added his second in the 87th minute to make it 3-1 before Nafiu Sulemana sealed victory with his stoppage time strike.
