Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has dedicated his Man-of-the-Match award at Sunday's Africa Cup of Nations to Anthony Annan.
The Black Stars beat Tunisia 2-1 march on to the semi-finals courtesy an extra-time goal by Andre Ayew. Ghana will now meet Zambia in the last four on Wednesday.
However, Agyemang-Badu who was voted the game's best player says the effort and Ghana's victory was in honour of Annan whose mother, Sophia Sampson died on Thursday.
“I want to thank the almighty Father for this wonderful job. My country has qualified for the semi-final and I am proud to be part of this group," he said.
“I dedicate this award to Anthony Annan, my mate, whose mum died three days ago as we prepared for this [Tunisia] big match.
"I wish him well and wish everybody well too.”
