Andre Ayew insists he feels no pressure after taking on the Ghana number 10 shirt.

The player swapped his 13 shirt for the 10 jersey, also used by his father, the legend, Abedi Ayew 'Pele' during his playing career.

For Andre, the revered shirt brings no pressure on him.

"Well, I think as a footballer, a number is just something that we put on," he said at Monday's press conference ahead of the game against Botswana at the African Cup of Nations in Group D.

"I believe that football is played on the field and not with the jersey. Yeah, it's true that he [Abedi] wore the number 10 and today it has come into my hands but that doesn't mean anything.

"I am still myself and I am going to give my best for my nation and I am going to prove the responsibility they have put of me and prove that I can take it very well."
