It was double delight for Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu as he celebrated scoring his debut African Cup of Nations goal which also happened to be Ghana's 100th at the tournament.
The midfielder delivered an outstanding goal in the first half at the tournament in Ghana's 1-1 draw with Guinea in the final group match on Wednesday.
And Agyemang-Badu, only became aware of the feat his 28th minute volley into the up-right had chalked after regulation time.
“I didn’t know anything about it,” Agyemang-Badu said on Wednesday after the game.
“I am very happy to score this [99th] goal and I have to continue like this and focus on Tunisia.”
For the 21 year-old, his debut goal and milestone celebration has to give way for the preparation of the quarter-final clash against Tunisia on Sunday.
“That’s the most important thing we have to do now. But I am really, really happy. I was looking forward to it [my debut goal] and I thank God that it came,” he added.
