The Black Queens recorded a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ivory Coast in an international friendly as preparations for the 2026 TotalEnergies Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) gathers momentum.

A second-half strike from Sharon Sampson proved to be the difference between the two sides, with the forward finding the back of the net in the 75th minute to hand Ghana a deserved victory.

Both teams created chances throughout the match in a closely contested affair, but the Black Queens displayed discipline and resilience at both ends of the pitch to secure the win.

The Black Queens will continue the training programme in Morocco with other friendly matches in the pipeline.
