Ghana's national male U-20 team have been handed a tricky group ahead of the WAFU B U20 Championship.

The Black Satellites will take on host Togo, Niger and Benin in Group A following Thursday's draw in Cote D'voire.

Coach Desmond Offei's side will take on Togo in the opening match before subsequent games against Niger and Benin.

The Black Satellites will be hoping to make a return to the Africa U20 Championship by finishing in the top two of the qualifying competition.

Ghana. 2009 world champions, have not qualified for the tournament since winning the competition in Mauritania in 2021.

Meanwhile, in Group B, Nigeria are joined by Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast.

The Black Satellites have been preparing for the championship since winning the 2023 All African Games on home soil back in March.

The team went to Europe for a mini tour as part of preparations before facing Legon Cities and SMAC in friendlies.

The WAFU Zone B championship begins on October 17 and ends on October 31, 2024.
