Another clean sheet and Ghana will be in the quarter-finals of the 2012 African Cup of Nations.

Ghana, after two wins have shown better organization at the back, having completed 180 minutes at the tournament without conceding a goal ahead of the final Group D clash against Guinea on Wednesday.

Six different players have been used in defence in both group games - Botswana and Mali - with Kwesi Appiah, assistant Black Stars coach, crediting the qualities of the defenders.

“Our defence is doing very well. When you talk about defence, it starts from the midfield and when the midfield is strong and always react, it helps defence," Appiah said ahead of the game with Guinea.

Appiah also highlighted the contributions of the midfielders in Ghana's efficient display.

"The midfield is doing well and they are helping the defence and the defence is making sure that nothing goes past them, which is really, really good for us.”

Ghana would have two key defenders, captain John Mensah and Isaac Vorsah available for the game with Guinea after serving suspensions.
