Coach of Ghana's male Under-20 team Orlando Wellington is confident of reaching the finals of the 2011 African Youth Championship as he leads the Black Satellites for the final round of qualifying in Benin.

The Black Satellites left Accra Wednesday morning for the first leg of the weekend's clash in Cotonou.

And as he prepares for his final qualifying game, the Black Satellites coach has insisted they have nothing to fear though aware of the high stakes that the game represents.

"We have prepared well and very conscious of the stakes at hand. It's a big game and the winner over the two-legs gets to go through.

"I have been impressed with the work-rate of the team and must state that we are not going to get complacent though we are very optimistic of our chances.

"The performances of the boys at training has been encouraging and it bodes well for their confidence. We have been working hard," Wellington told www.ghanafa.org prior to departure on Wednesday.

Ghana's 18-member squad includes four foreign-based players - Mahatma Otoo, Afriyie Acquah, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom and James Bissue.

Wellington says his foreign quartet have no problems adjusting into his team plans.

"These boys have always been part of the team and they know their colleagues so well. It wouldn't be a problem for them to settle into the squad. It's always good to put your best foot forward and we intend to name our best sides to help us achieve our targets," he said.

Ghana advanced to this stage of the competition after beating Namibia 5-1 on aggregate as the Black Satellites, who won the last continental competition in Rwanda a year ago, aim for a place in the 2011 finals to be staged by Libya.

Seven teams will qualify for the finals along with hosts Libya.
