In a historic display of courage and determination, Dreams FC has etched its name into the annals of Ghanaian football history, after they made it all the way through to the semifinals on their maiden voyage into the CAF Confederation Cup. Their journey, though halted at the semifinal stage, has left an indelible mark on the hearts of football enthusiasts across the nation.

Dreams FC, in their inaugural appearance in the prestigious continental tournament, soared to heights unseen in two decades for Ghanaian clubs, reaching the semi-final stage. Their valiant efforts captivated the imagination of fans and pundits alike, as they showcased grit, talent, and resilience throughout their campaign.

In his remarks delivered when Dreams FC paid a courtesy call on the GFA, Dreams FC's General Manager, Ameenu Shardow, was quick to extend gratitude towards the Ghana Football Association (GFA). He lauded the FA for its unwavering support, both financially and through the provision of logistics, which proved instrumental in their journey to the penultimate stage of the tournament.

Shardow expressed heartfelt appreciation for the FA's provision of personnel and logistical assistance, which bolstered Dreams FC's efforts on the continental stage. He emphasized that their inspirational campaign should serve as strong motivation for other Ghanaian clubs participating in CAF inter-club competitions.

“The campaign was stressful right from our registration to our participation in the competition, but the FA came through for us; and for that, we are immensely grateful,” Ameenu Shardow noted.

“What we have done in this campaign is a big statement that Ghana football has a lot to offer. This shows that a Ghanaian club can win a trophy in the CAF organised competitions soon,” he added.

President of the Ghana FA, Mr. Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, joined in congratulating Dreams FC for their remarkable achievement in reaching the semi-finals. He commended the club for its resilience and determination, acknowledging their contribution to elevating the stature of Ghanaian football on the continental stage.

Simeon-Okraku also highlighted the collective success of Ghanaian clubs in the CAF competitions, applauding both Dreams FC and Medeama SC for securing group stage qualifications at the start of their campaigns. He underscored the FA's role in supporting these clubs:

“Let me first of all congratulate you for your historic achievement. I can’t easily recall the last time two Ghanaian clubs simultaneously qualified to the group stage of the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. Medeama SC and Dreams FC securing this feat is good for Ghana football and they must be congratulated,” he said.

“As we have always done for all our clubs who play in Africa, the FA will continue to offer our support both financially and logistically to all. And in the case of Dreams FC, the support from the FA included fueling the generators at the stadium to enable evening games,” he added.

In his closing remarks, President Simeon-Okraku urged Ghanaian clubs to draw inspiration from Dreams FC's performance and strive for excellence in future continental endeavours. He emphasized the importance of unity, determination, and unwavering support from stakeholders in propelling Ghanaian football to greater heights on the African continent.

As Dreams FC reflects on their historic journey in the CAF Confederation Cup, their remarkable feat serves as a testament to the potential and talent within Ghanaian football.

With the support of the Ghana FA and the collective determination of clubs nationwide, the future of Ghanaian club football shines bright.
