FC Samartex silence Bechem United, Legon Cities back to winning ways in betPawa Premier League

FC Samartex 1996 were big winners on Matchday 3 - as they swept aside Bechem United 4-1 at Nana Nsenkyire Park.

Augustine Okrah gave Bechem United an early lead in the 18th minute but FC Samartex fought back with an equalizer through Evans Osei Wusu inside 30 minutes as the first half ended 1-1.

FC Samartex 1996 who began the season with a home win over two time champions Aduana FC lost 2-0 to Nations FC on Matchday two and aimed to record their second consecutive home win against Bechem United to get their season back on track.

After the break - Emmanuel Keyekeh gave the host a deserved lead in the 70th minute.

New signing Baba Hamadu Musah got his name on the scorers sheet as he converted a spot kick inside 74minutes to extend their lead.

The former Skyy FC attacker who was the top scorer of last seasons Access Bank Division One League added to the tally two minutes later to wrap things up for FC Samartex 1996 - who romped to a 4-1 home win.

Elsewhere in Accra - Nicholas Mensah and Samuel Armah scored in either half to give Legon Cities a 2-1 win over Aduana FC at the El-wak stadium. Mensah scored in the 9th minute to give the Royals an early lead but Isaac Mintah leveled matters for Aduana FC in the 25th minute before Samuel Armah scored the winner inside 54th minutes.

In another tough encounter, returnees Heart of Lions held Real Tamale United to a 2-2 draw at the Aliu Mahama stadium. Ebenezer Abban cancelled Afriyie Owusu’s 7th minute strike to end the first half 1-1. Back from recess, Seedorf Asante gave Heart of Lions a rare lead inside 72 minutes before Fatawu Abdul Sayibu restored parity for Real Tamale United in the 76th minute.

Finally in Accra - Great Olympics won their first match of the season as they cruised to a 1-0 win over Bibiani Gold Stars at the Accra Sports stadium. After a barren first half, Michael Osei scored the only goal of the game in the 48th minute to give Great Olympics all the points.

Earlier on Saturday- Accra Hearts of Oak suffered yet another defeat on the road to Bofoakwa Tano at the Coronation Park. Saaka Dauda scored in the 46th minute to give Bofoakwa Tano their second consecutive home win.

Meanwhile Accra Lions put up a spirited display to snatch a point off Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park. Bernard Kesse scored in the 10th minute to give Accra Lions a deserved lead after having a lions share of possession.

The Accra lads held on until the break as Mezack Afriyie smashed home the equalizer on the hour mark. Accra Lions defended gallantly to snatch a vital away point at the Golden City Park.
