Ghana recorded a 4-1 victory over Morocco on Sunday in the first leg of the final-round qualifier for the 2013 African Youth Championship.

The Black Satellites hold the advantage ahead of the reverse clash in Morocco as the aggregate winner over both legs will qualify for next year's Championship in Algeria.

Frank Sarfo Gyamfi was on target in the 31st minute to give Ghana the leas at the Tamale Stadium after finishing off a pass from Moses Odjer.

However, the visitors fought back and drew level two minutes after the opener when striker Chibi Mohammed scored for the Atlas Cubs.

Ghana captain Lawrence Lartey restored their lead when he headed home from a corner in the 40th minute before heading into the break.

After the interval, Ghana scored their third and fourth goals of the afternoon through substitute Frank Acheampong.

Acheampong on the stroke of full-time rounded the Moroccan goalkeeper before planting the ball into an empty goal.

The Black Satellites continue their qualifying campaign in a fortnight's time in Rabat.

Seven teams will make it from the qualifiers and join hosts, Algeria, in the finals next year.
