Business Development Manager of the Ghana Football Association, Janice Odonkor, has opened the Coaching Exchange program between the Ghana Football Association and the French Football Federation at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.

On behalf of the GFA, Janice Odonkor, who doubles as the Project Coordinator, warmly welcomed the delegation of coaches from the FFF to Ghana.

“We are thrilled to inaugurate this Coaching Exchange Program, which marks a significant step in our ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of football coaching in Ghana,” Odonkor said.

“We are grateful to the France Embassy and the French Football Federation for their invaluable support and collaboration in making this program a reality.”

Present at the opening session of the program was International Training Expert Lafargue Jean-Claude and Ludovic Debru who represented the Technical Director of the FFF, both from France.

Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association, Professor Mintah, Director of Coach Education Desmond Ofei and the Head of Women’s Football Desk, Jennifer Amankwaa Sarpong, were also in attendance.

The Coaching Exchange Program is designed to provide Ghanaian female coaches with the opportunity to learn advanced coaching techniques, strategies, and methodologies from their French counterparts.

The GFA expressed its optimism that this partnership with the FFF will yield long-term benefits for Ghanaian football, particularly in nurturing young talents and promoting professional growth among female national team and club coaches.

For the GFA, the program is also a strategic step towards achieving the goals spelt out in the Women’s Football Strategy put together by the Ghana Football Association, which aims to raise the game to new levels and heights.

The training for the Coaches is part of a broader strategic initiative aimed at transforming Women's football in Ghana.

This ground-breaking project has already included a training camp for the Black Princesses at the renowned Clairefontaine Centre, the historic training ground of the French National Team, which took place from February 10th to 17th, 2024.

During this camp, participants gained essential knowledge, skills, and technical expertise needed to thrive on the international stage, with a special focus on addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by female footballers, coaches, and referees in Ghana.
