Ghana defeated Switzerland 2-0 in a pre-World Cup international friendly at the Zayed Sports complex in the United Arab Emirates Thursday. Both teams used the match to get ready for this weekend’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 finals which kicks off in Doha on Sunday.

After a barren first half Coach Otto Addo made four changes to the set up as Daniel Kofi Kyereh, Antoine Semenyo, Kamal Sowah and Kamal Deen Sulemana came on for Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Jordan Ayew, Inaki Williams and Elisha Owusu.

Defender Salisu Mohammed broke the deadlock in the 69th minute as he got on the end of a Kamal Sowah flick to calmy head home. Kyereh’s corner kick found Sowah whose flick located Salisu and the Southampton man made no mistake as he headed home from close range to give Ghana a 1-0 lead.

The Black Stars got rewarded again in the 74th minute – this time through Antione Semenyo who connected a rebound to register his first international goal for Ghana. Kamal Deen Sulemana started the buildup with his electric down the left-side. He went pass his marker before hitting home from a half volley to give Ghana a 2-0 cushioning.

Joseph Aidoo later came on for Salisu Mohammed while Alidu Seidu made an entry in place of Tariq Lamptey.

The tempo of the game slightly dropped as Ghana held on to win 2-0 at the Zayed Sports Centre in Abu Dhabi.

The Black Stars will play Portugal in their opening match on Thursday, November 24 before taking on South Korea and Uruguay in the other Group H matches.

Here's Ghana's Starting XI for the match:

The following came on as substitutes in the second half: Antoine Semenyo, Alidu Seidu, Daniel Kofi Kyereh, Kamal Sowah, Kamal Deen Sulemana, Joseph Aidoo
