Ghana's Ambassador to Brazil, H.E. Abena Pokua Adompim Busia paid a visit to the Black Princesses to encourage them as they prepare to play Japan in their second Group E fixture of the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Colombia.

Ghana’s Embassy in Brazil is also responsible for all other 12 countries in the South American region including Colombia. She encouraged the team to put their opening day defeat to Austria behind and focus on their game against Japan.

“I am so proud of you and very happy to be here. We saw your arrival video which went viral and we were all dancing in the office'' H.E Abena Adimpim Pokua Busia said.

''It is important to note that this is already a life time achievement to be at the World Cup. Only a few group of people have been able to make it to this world stage. I have been boasting to people that I am going to Bogota to see my Princesses''.

''I bring you the good wishes from the President, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo. The team in Brasilia is in charge of all 12 countries in the continent of South America''.

''You have already made us proud. I know you were sad about your opening result few days ago but this is the life you live. You get to play your next game which I will be there to cheer you on to victory. You are lifting the flag of Ghana high which is a rare thing. Each of you have had a different journey to get to where you are now and you know the journey isn’t an easy one''.

''Success is not in the winning but in continuing to do what your heart knows to be right and to do it right''. She concluded.

Ghana will play their second group E game against Japan on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 22:00GMT.
