Ghana's Ambassador to Senegal rallies Black Maidens ahead of World Cup Qualifier

Ghana's Ambassador to Senegal, H.E. Dr. Felix Kumah Godwin Anebo, paid a courtesy call on the Black Maidens at the team’s camp in Diamniadio on Thursday, offering words of encouragement ahead of Friday's fixture against Senegal.

The Ambassador, accompanied by members of the Ghana Embassy in Senegal, received a warm welcome from the team's technical staff and players during the visit.

Addressing the team, H.E. Dr. Anebo commended the players for their commitment and dedication to representing Ghana, urging them to approach the game with confidence, discipline and determination.

"It is always a privilege to see young Ghanaian athletes representing our nation beyond our borders. You carry the hopes of millions of Ghanaians every time you step onto the pitch," he told the players.

"Believe in your abilities, trust your coaches and play for one another.

The Ambassador also assured the team of the Embassy's unwavering support throughout their stay in Senegal.

"The Embassy is proud of you, and we will continue to support you in every way we can. We wish you the very best against Senegal and hope you make the nation proud," he added.

The Black Maidens expressed appreciation for the visit through leader of delegation, Dr. Evelyn Nsiah Asare Owusu describing it as a major source of motivation ahead of the much-anticipated encounter.

Ghana will take on Senegal at the Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor in Dakar on Friday in the bid for a slot to the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
