Asamoah Gyan expects some surprises to unfold at the African Cup of Nations but says he has confidence in the Ghana to do well.

Ahead of their Group D meeting in Franceville on Tuesday against first-timers, Botswana, Gyan remains optimistic about Ghana's chances and adds that their opponents would not be taken lightly because of their lack of pedigree.

"We don't underestimate anybody. We go out as a team and play our normal football. In football, anything can happen. It's not like the past years that you can predict everything that easily.

"I have confidence in the Black Stars, no doubt about that. Let's see what will happen because we are ready, we are all fit and ready to go. No prediction for now but we would make sure we will do our best to carry day."
