The Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League relegation playoff match in the Southern Zone has been scheduled for Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Mcdan Teshie Sports Complex.

Faith Ladies FC will take on Halifax Queens FC at 10am in the relegation play-off to determine which side joins Berry Ladies FC to relegation in the Southern Zone.

Their first meeting in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier league on Matchday 9 ended 1:1, and the return fixture also ended 1:1 on Matchday 18.

Both teams finished on 13 points, and as such, the Head to Head provisions of Articles 7(4) and 7(7) of the Ghana Football Association Women’s Premier League Regulations 2020 shall apply.

The provision is applicable in the following order:

"If two or more teams obtain the same number of points at the end of the competition, their ranking shall be determined as follows and in the stated order:

(a) Greater number of points obtained in matches between the clubs concerned during the competition.

(b) Goal difference resulting from the matches) between the teams concerned.

(c) Greater number of goals scored in the match(es) between the teams concerned.

(d) Greater number of goals scored away from home in matches between the teams concerned.

(e) In the event there is still a tie after the application of all the above, the GFA shall organise a play-off between/or amongst the teams concerned at a neutral ground".

It is in accordance with the above regulation that the GFA is mandated by the provisions of the Woman's Premier League Regulations 2020 to organise the playoff match between Faith Ladies FC and Halifax Queens FC.

The GFA wishes both teams the best of luck as they battle for survival on Saturday. The general public is entreated to come and witness the match.
