Mukarama grab hat trick as Ghana beat 5-0 in U17WWC opener

Skipper Mularama Abdulai scored a hat trick to help Ghana record a 5-0 victory over Uruguay in their FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Group Match plays at the Estadio Charrua, Montevideo on Tuesday. 

Fuseina Mumuni and Milot Abena Pokuaa also found the net for the Black Maidens in their emphatic victory over the host nation.

The goals started pouring-in Black Maidens midfielder Fuseina Mumuni broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when he picked up the ball inside the box of the Uruguayans and turned around to slot in for the Ghana.

Black Maidens skipper Mukarama added the second goal of the day flyer she headed in a cross from Grace Animah to beat the Uruguayan defenders.

Coach Evans Adotey’s side went into the break with the two goal lead with Milot Abena Pokuaa coming on for first goalscorer Fuseina who suffered an injury.

The substitute got her name on the score sheet  the 66th minute after he beat the Uruguayan goalkeeper to slot home for Ghana. 

Mukarama then add d her second goal of the evening 78th minute and completed her hat trick a minute into added time. 

The win takes Ghana top of Group A with three points, same as New Zealand who also beat Finland in the other group match.

The Black Maidens will play Finland in their next group stage match on Friday November 16 at the Estadio Charrua at 7pm (10pm GMT).
