President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has applauded Anthony Baffoe, the leadership of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) and the Retired National Footballers Association of Ghana (RENFAG) for putting in measures to improve the welfare of players.

Anthony Baffoe has for the past thirteen years led a crusade to create more solidarity amongst footballers, educate, advice and counsel them on contractual agreements and investments they wish to make. The Association was registered in 2009 and launched in May 2010 with Anthony Baffoe being the founder and General Secretary.

‘’The World Cup will never be a topic if our players of yester-years have not set a pathway for us to follow’’ President Simeon-Okraku said.

‘’This is the reason why I doff my hat for the leadership of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) and everybody who has the love to seek the welfare of our players who represent our country right from the U-15, U-17, U-20, U-23 and the senior level’’. ‘’Ayekoo PFAG, RENFAG and everybody who believe that the welfare of our players is important’’.

‘’Ayekoo to Tony Baffoe, the vision to set up an association to think about the welfare of footballers, the main actors of our sport in this country wouldn't have been the case if there was no Tony Baffoe who had the vision, who put everybody together’’.

‘’The retired national Footballers Association has also played a big role in the welfare of players who sacrificed for our country and it has taken people like Alhaji Ibrahim Sunday and the rest of the team to keep their colleagues alive and to be able to follow the sport that we love so much’’.

Former Bayern Munich star Samuel Osei Kuffuor is the President of the Association with Captain of Medeama Joseph Tetteh Zutah as Vice President.

Other members of the Board include legend Abedi Ayew Pele, Kwame Ayew, Augustine Arhinful, Ibrahim Tanko, Stephen Appiah, Mohammed Muntari Tagoe, Elizabeth Addo and Gifty Appiah.
