Ghana are keen to beat Zambia in the semi-final and go one step better than they did two years at the Africa Cup of Nations when they finished second.

The Black Stars and the Chipolopolo clash in the last-four of the tournament at the 35,000 capacity Estadio de Bata on Wednesday.

With four Nations Cup titles to their name, the Black Stars are bidding to reach a record ninth final, and second in succession.

However, Goran Stevanovic's side must first beat Zambia, who have never won the competition to realise their dreams.

Stevanovic, ahead of the game, said his players could overcome the hindered build-up after having after arriving in Bata on Monday and only trained on the eve of the match.

“We have a short time to prepare,” Stevanovic said at Tuesday’s pre-match news conference.

“But the most important thing is our morale and our personality. We have all this and I’m sure we will be ready for tomorrow’s game.”

Renard Herve, a former Ghana assistant coach says Zambia have no pressure going into the game.

"Zambia aren't the favourites, but in our heads Ghana aren't superior to us.

"They haven't won the Nations Cup since 1982, so they'll have a certain pressure to get a result which we don't have.

"Ghana may have more experienced and quality players but it was the same situation with Senegal (beaten 2-1 by Zambia in the first round).

"When you qualify for the semi-finals if you can't beat the big sides you don't deserve to be in the final, that means there'll be no pressure on us."

The winner will play either Ivory Coast or Mali in the final on Sunday.
