Ghana finish top in Group D after drawing 2-2 with Uruguay and now await their opponent for next week's round of 16 clash.

The African Champions would have to play a third placed team from Group B, E or F on October 6.

The Black Satellites who would remain in Ismailia will rue some few moments of lax defending that allowed the South Americans to claw back two goals after Rabiu Mohammed and Ransford Osei had given Ghana a 2-nil lead.

Sellas Tetteh made three changes to the side that started the two previous matches for the final group game.

Daniel Opare and Kassenu Ghandy both full backs make their World Youth Championship debut in place for Samuel Inkoom and David Addy while Abeiku Quansah got the nod ahead of Opoku Agyemang in midfield.

But it was the Uruguayans who appeared the better side in the opening half as they had a goal by Hernandez disallowed for an offside.

Ghana's best chances in the first half fell to Agyemang Badu but his shot missed target by inches.

After a goalless first half where both sides missed some clear chances, Rabiu, who was shown a straight red card for a challenge - though a harsh decision - put Ghana in the lead.

The Sampdoria midfielder was picked out by Andre Ayew in the box and he went past two markers before firing to far corner past Rodriguez on 54 minutes.

One-nil up and Abel Hernandez had the chance to draw Uruguay level but he dragged his shot wide of the post.

And seconds later, Ghana responded at the opposite side when Ransford Osei scored his third goal of the tournament when he side-stepped Abeiku Quansah's cross into the post in the 70th minute.

Ghana, after the second goal were a delight but were hit by a loss of concentration.

Four minutes after the goal, Nicolas Lodeiro was put through and he drove in a shot into the roof of the net.

Then a minute after that goal, Ghana were down to ten men when Mohammed Rabiu was given a straight red card for a challenge on Aguirregaray.

Sellas Tetteh was forced to altering the shape of his team as Gladson Awako was brought on for Ransford Osei.

Ghana made a second change bringing on David Addy for Andre Ayew as the Black Satellites sought to protect their lead.

But in the first minute of added time, Uruguay claimed an equaliser when Hernandez scored from close range to set up a frenetic last few minutes, though Ghana held on strongly.

Uruguay, the runner-up from the group will travel to Port Said to face Brazil in the next round.
