Skyy FC, Bofoakwa Tano chase history in Division One League Super Cup

Skyy FC and Bofoakwa Tano will clash in the final of the 2023 Division One League Super Cup at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports complex on Friday, September 1, 2023. This will be their second meeting in the competition following a 2-0 win for Skyy FC in Group B.

Baba Musah scored a brace t power his side to a flying start to the tournament after scoring in either half (25th,68th) minutes to continue his impressive form in the second tier competition.

Skyy FC are the only unbeaten side in the tournament, following victories against Bofoakwa Tano (2-0), Young Apostles (1-0), Nzema Kotoko (1-0) and Kpando Heart of Lions (1-0). The Daboase lads have also yet to concede in four matches – scoring 5 goals in the process.

On the other hand Bofoakwa Tano recovered from an opening day defeat to Skyy FC to register impressive results against Young Apostles and Nzema Kotoko after which they qualified as runners up in Group B with 6 points.

The Premier League returnees defied the odds to beat Nations FC 1-0 in the semifinal of the tournament. Elijah Addai scored the only goal of the match in the 113th minute to set up a date with Skyy FC in the final.

Skyy FC will be playing their second Division One League Super Cup in three years having beaten Tema Youth to win the maiden edition in 2021 before Liberty Professionals now Hohoe United FC pip Nsoatreman FC 1-0 to win the title at Kyebi in 2022.

Meanwhile Nations FC will play Kpando Heart of Lions in the third place playoffs at 1pm as the final is scheduled for 4pm kickoff on Friday. Both games will stream live on the official YouTube channel of the Ghana Football Association.
