UEFA Assist opens four day training Workshop for Premier League clubs in Accra

The Ghana Football Association and UEFA Assist have opened a four day training Workshop for representatives of the 18 Ghana Premier League clubs at the Swiss Spirits Alisa Hotel. The workshop which began on Tuesday, September 7 will end on Friday, September 10, 2021.

The training workshop will cover areas such as, Governance, Club modelling, Finance, Income Generation, Match day operations and Venue Management, Marketing and Communications, Event Management and Technical Development.

The UEFA Assist team is led by Eva Pasquier, the Head of International Relations at UEFA and the UEFA Assist Programme.

Others include Markus Fritz Schmid, a FIFA/UEFA Coach Educator and a Consultant on Strategic Planning and Technical Development, Kenny MacLeod, a Marketing Consultant who supports Federations to grow their commercial, media, digital marketing and Johannes Wilhelmus Maria, a UEFA Consultant.

President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku opened the training Programme on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 in Accra.

Other participants in the programme include Heads of departments and staff of the Marketing, Communications, Competitions, HR, Club Licensing and IT Departments of the GFA.

The clubs nominated three management members from Technical (Head Coach), Finance/Administration and Marketing/Communications for the training.

Running alongside the Administrative training is a Technical Development programme involving the Head Coaches of the 18 Premier League clubs.  GFA Technical Director Bernhard Lippert and Schmid Fritz Markus – a former Coach of Tottenham Hotspur, FC Basel, Austria and New Zealand will be in forefront of this training on Wednesday and Thursday.

This week long training Programme forms part of the GFAs grand agenda of empowering the Clubs by making them administratively viable and independent in the lead up to the autonomous Ghana Premier League.
