Since 2000, the Ghana Premier League has completed 23 seasons, with Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko winning the title seven times each.

Aduana FC have lifted the trophy twice — first in their debut season in 2009-10 and again in 2017. AshantiGold SC and Berekum Chelsea have each won one title, with Chelsea famously clinching the 2010-11 league crown.

Other clubs to have won the Ghana Premier League title are Medeama SC, Legon Cities (formerly Wa All Stars), FC Samartex, and Bibiani Gold Stars, all with one league trophy each.
