Eastern Region's Ransford Siaw and Upper West Region's Abdulai Bashit were the standout performers on Matchday 2 of the 2026 MTN Elite U-19 Championship, earning Most Valuable Player honours after inspiring their respective sides to important Group A victories.

Siaw was named MVP after scoring the decisive goal in Eastern Region's 1-0 victory over Western Region, handing the defending champions their first win of the campaign.

The forward struck in the eighth minute at the GFA Technical Centre, and his early effort proved enough to separate the two sides in a closely contested encounter.

Meanwhile, Upper West Region's Abdulai Bashit continued his remarkable goalscoring form, finding the net again in his side's 2-1 victory over Volta Region.

Bashit's latest strike took his tournament tally to four goals in two matches, following his hat-trick in Upper West's impressive opening-day win over defending champions Eastern Region.

The championship continues to provide some of Ghana's brightest young footballers with valuable opportunities to develop their technical and tactical abilities, gain competitive experience and showcase their potential to scouts, professional clubs and national-team selectors.
