FC Savannah, Fosu Ladies win on opening day of Regional Women’s championship

FC Savannah, Kumasi sports Academy and Fosu Royal Ladies pick up wins in the opening day of the Regional Championship in Kumasi.

FC Savannah played host to Real Crusaders in the opening match at the Bantama Artificial Turf and defeated the visitors 2:1.

Abdul Safia Rahman opened the scoring for FC Savannah in the 40th minute following an end to end action in the opening minutes.

Real Crusaders improved in the second half as they pushed for the equaliser. Their efforts paid off in the 77th minute through Vera Yeboah.

That didn’t last long as an own goal from Real Crusaders’ Zakia Lamin restored the one goal advantage for FC Savannah who hanged on for the maximum points.

Brong Ahafo Regional Champions, Fosu Royal Ladies came from behind to defeat Nasara Ladies 4:2.

Mohammed Ruhia and Abdulai Bintu scored in either half to put Nasara Ladies in the lead but a resolute Fosu Royal Ladies side came from behind to defeat the visitors.

Fosu Royal Ladies scored two quick fire goals kind courtesy Gloria Adomako and Yvonne Faar Yeboah to draw level.

Sharifa Salifu added a third in the 79th minute before Yvonne Faar Yeboah registered a brace to hand her side the three points.
