The Ghana Football Association (GFA) successfully delivered safeguarding oversight during the Elite U-17 Girls Championship held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE), Prampram, ensuring that the wellbeing, safety, and protection of all participating young players remained a key priority throughout the competition.

As part of the tournament preparations, the GFA conducted a comprehensive pre-competition safeguarding risk assessment covering child safeguarding, player welfare, medical support, emergency response procedures, venue safety, and security arrangements.

Before the competition, players received safeguarding education focused on recognising and preventing abuse in football, understanding different forms of abuse, and knowing how to raise concerns through the appropriate reporting channels. Designated female safeguarding personnel were available to support the young players.

The GFA also ensured that player welfare standards were upheld throughout the championship, with teams encouraged to seek prompt medical attention from the medical personnel on-site whenever players required support.
