Greater Accra Football Association (GARFA) holds Ordinary session of Congress

The Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) held it's annual Congress on Monday October 22, 2024, at the Secretariat of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA).

The Congress officially brought to an end the 2023/24 football season and lifted the curtains to kickoff the 2024/25 campaign.

GARFA Chairman Samuel Aboabire acknowledged the hard work, commitment and dedication of his team, leading to the securing of sponsorship for the Regional Association. GARFA announced sponsorship deals with Soccabet and Ashlid Sports before the start of the new season.

Mr. Samuel Aboabire highlighted the progress made in the GARFA Division Two and Women Leagues, the District Division Three, Colts football and Refereeing. He pledged the Executive Council's continuous assistance to the Women Clubs and Colts football.

He reminded delegates about GARFA's obligations and responsibilities to it's sponsors and requested for an all-inclusive drive for sustainability.

An Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association,  Gideon Fosu, represented President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku at the Congress.

While congratulating GARFA for the great work, Mr. Fosu expressed gratitude to Soccabet and Ashlid Sports for their sponsorship  commitment to the development of football in Ghana. He further appealed to corporate Ghana to join hands with the GFA in fostering a partnership for the forward march of the thriving sport.

Among the dignitaries present were the GARFA Executive Council members, the Patron of GARFA, Mr. H. H  D Adika, Mr. Daasebre Adu Asare, RFAs' Coordinator and Mr. Gideon Fosu, a GFA Executive Council member representing the GFA President.
