Coach of the home-based Black Stars, Herbert Addo has backed his side to compete for next year's African Nations Championship title.
"Yes, we can [win title] because in football you cant tell or predict what might happen," the coach of the home-based side told www.ghanafa.org.
Ghana would be making their second consecutive appearance at the tournament in Sudan after losing in the finals of the maiden event in 2009 which had eight sides participating.
The tournament designed by CAF for only home-based players of its member countries has seen an expansion with 16 sides going into the second campaign in Sudan.
Despite the keen competition expected, coach Addo is still confident in the qualities of his side though he is yet to formalize his squad for the tournament.
"But yes [can win], as I said earlier on. We are now trying the players and would pick the best out of it. So far, the performance they are putting up are quite impressive. I do have confidence in the boys."
"As for now, I cant say anything about that [squad] because it's left with two months for the tournament to begin so as we keep on training, we will know the type of players who can make it into the final squad.
"We will check all sides be it defence, midfield and attacking and all other areas and pick the best out of it. Also as time goes on we will be going on training tours and i think out of that we can get the best."
Ghana are paired in Group B with South Africa, Zimbabwe and Niger in the 16-nation competition and for Herbert Addo, all the sides that has made it to the finals are deserving candidates.
"All the countries in our group are very tough and good sides because some of the local players have got the feel of playing outside their countries and also playing for their national teams as well so you can see they all have good sides. I don't think its going to be an easy thing, it's going to be difficult."
