The National Juvenile Committee convened a crucial meeting in Accra to address key issues affecting juvenile football in the country. The three-hour session, held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, brought together committee members to review recent developments and strategise for the future of Ghana's youth football programs.
One of the main topics on the agenda was a comprehensive review of the recently concluded Elite U15 Boys Colts Championship. The committee analysed the successes and challenges of the tournament, with the aim of enhancing future editions to better develop young talents.
The committee also discussed the status of juvenile clubs that were de-linked from the registration system after remaining inactive for a season. Recognizing the importance of maintaining a vibrant and active juvenile league, members explored options to reintegrate these clubs or address their situations in a manner that aligns with the GFA's goals for grassroots football development.
Additionally, preparations for the upcoming assignments of the juvenile national teams were discussed. The committee considered plans for the teams' camping sessions, aimed at ensuring they are well-prepared and competitive on the international stage.
This National Juvenile Committee, chaired by the President of the association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, is committed to fostering growth in juvenile football, creating pathways for young talents, and strengthening the overall structure of youth football in Ghana.
Present at the meeting was the Head of IT Francis Adu-Essah who provided valuable insight into how de-linked juvenile clubs can be aligned.
