The Black Queens cruised to a 3:0 win over Benin in the first leg of their Paris 2024 Olympic qualifier on Friday.

A well converted spot kick from Doris Boaduwaa on the 44th minute was enough to hand the Black Queens a well deserved lead over the Amazons at Stade de L’Amitiè in Cotonou.

Benin goalkeeper Alassane Sowiaratou’s heroics denied the Queens an early goal after Portia Boakye sent in a long drive in the 3rd minute.

Clotoe Valentine came close to pulling parity on the 68th minute but Cynthia Konlan came to the party to deliver a classic save.

Substitute Gifty Assifuah capitalized on a defensive blunder to get our second of the evening before adding a third goal inside 78 minutes.

Yolande Gnanmi came close to reducing the deficit but saw her effort ruled offside in the last quarter of the game.

The result means the Black Queens have their hundred percent record intact in the ongoing qualifiers.

The reverse fixture will take place at the Accra Sports stadium on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
