Shama District 2023/2024 COLTS League ends with thrilling conclusion

After weeks of intense and exciting football action in the Shama District, the 2023/2024 Colts League has come to a successful end across all age categories (U13, U15 & U17).

For all three age categories, the format for the competition was such that, after the regular season, four clubs would qualify to a semifinal stage with the winners of the semifinals going on to the Grand final. This stage of the Colts Championships in the region was named the Shama District Colts League Champion of Champions.

Benbella Babies battle through to win Under-13

In the Under-13 category, Aboadze Benbella Babies showed their supremacy by whipping Unicorn Babies 2-0 in their semifinal match before going on to defeat Lead First Academy (who had eliminated Juventus Babies in their semifinal) on penalties in the Final.

Kelvin Kwofie of Benbella Babies won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award in their semifinal match with Unicorn Babies with Moses Bonney of Juventus Babies winning the MVP award in the other semifinal.

The final match was a tight and tense affair with Benbella Babies and Lead First Academy putting up spirited performances and ending the match goalless. Benbella Babies held their nerve to win the penalty shootout 3-1. Although his team lost, painfully, on penalties, Richmond Kwofie of Lead First Academy won the MVP award in the final

Komfueku DJS Babies lift U15 crown

After accounting for Juventus Babies 2-0 on penalties in their semifinal match, Komfueku DJS Babies clashed with Unity Babies in the final. Unity Babies had ealier on defeated Saddick Babies 3-2 also on penalties, in a match which saw Christopher Quayson of Unity Babies emerging as MVP. Emmanuel Annan of Komfueku DJS Babies won the MVP award in the other semifinal.

DJS Babies narrowly beat Unity Babies in the final with the match ending 2-1. The final match MVP award deservedly went to Philip Mensah of Unity Babies.

Double Joy for Komfueku DJS Babies as they win U17 Trophy

After winning the Under-15 category, the U17 team of Komfueku DJS Babies emulated the feat of their younger brothers (U15) by winning the U17 category.

In the highest scoring semifinal across all age categories, DJS Babies defeated Benbella Babies in a close contest that ended 3-2 in favour of the victors. Enoch Bosomtwe of Komfueku DJS Babies won the MVP award in this match.

In the second semifinal, Abuesi Angers Babies defeated Unicorn Babies 2-0 in a match which Angers Babies largely dominated. Isaac Nii Nyame was adjudged the MVP of this match.

The U17 final was another absorbing battle with Komfueku DJS Babies and Abuesi Angers United going toe-to-toe with each other, with the game ending goalless. DJS Babies went on to win on penalties, with Joshua Arthur of ,Abuesi Angers United winning the coveted MVP award.

Soccer fans in the Shama District were full of praise for Komfueku DJS Babies for their triumph in two categories (U15 and U17). They also applauded Aboadze Benbella Babies for winning the U13 category and commended the Shama District Football Association for a well organised tournament.
