Ten appointed as Disciplinary Committee Members

The GFA Congress, at its 30th Ordinary Session held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, unanimously appointed ten (10) persons to serve as Members of the Disciplinary Committee.

The new Disciplinary Committee membership will serve for the next four (4) years starting immediately following their appointment on August 27, 2024.

In all, six members from the previous Committee were retained. Lawyer Osei Kwadwo Adow was maintained as Chairperson while Lawyer Lorraine Adjekai Crabbe Ababio is now the Vice-Chairperson of the Committee.

Lawyer Emmanuel Nikoi, Elsie Nana Acheampong, Nathaniel Laryea and Shaibu Ali all got renewed terms as Members of the Disciplinary Committee.

The four new members of the Committee include Lawyer Adelaide Benneh Prempeh, Lawyer Cyril Boateng Keteku, Lawrence Asare-Attuah and Lawyer Richard Osei Anane.

The Executive Council, acting under Article 56 of the Statutes, submitted the proposed membership of the Committee to the respected Congress of the Ghana Football Association for approval under Articles 32(2)(r) and 55(5) of the Statutes of the GFA.

The GFA Statutes, under Article 56 (headed – Disciplinary Committee), provides as follows:

“There shall be a Disciplinary Committee made up of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and 8 other Members. Three (3) members may be empanelled to hear a given case. The Chairman shall be a member of the Ghana Bar Association of not less than ten (10) years at the Bar. The Vice-Chairman shall be a member of the Ghana Bar Association of not less than ten (10) years at the Bar.”

The appointed members will serve the new term until August 26, 2028.
