The Head Coach of the newly formed U16 Women’s national side, Bernice Adutwumwaa Kyeremeh, is back to the country after attending a 5-day Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Football Coaching Workshop in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation and CAF Member Associations' female national team coaches convened for a coaching workshop from May 14–18, 2024, with the aim of exchanging information. The goal of the course was to increase knowledge about women's football injury prevention and health.

The workshop forms part of CAF’s commitment to increase gender diversity in coaching as well as to foster a sense of community and promote interaction between coaches in Africa and Saudi Arabia.

The course also sought to improve participants' coaching abilities for both senior and junior national teams, as well as to help female football administrators advance their careers and improve women's football across the board.

In a brief interaction with GFA Communications upon arrival, Coach Bernice, who doubles as Head Coach for Prisons Ladies in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier league, highlighted the takeaways from the workshop.

“It was an opportunity for me to learn, unlearn, and relearn that will help me at the club level and the national level. My take-home was about health and injury prevention for female footballers, as well as leadership and communication in football. Many thanks to the Ghana Football Association and CAF for this opportunity”.
